Ashleigh and I were so thrilled to go to the Poppy Seed Projects class while we were at the SNAP! conference. The cute owners gave us great instruction and gave us a sign of our very own to paint and personalize. There isn't a product they make that I wouldn't buy, but at the class I headed straight for this bird sign.
Our mom's middle name was Bird and she expressed her creativity by frequently painting birds and using a little bird as her signature. Since our mom passed away I have always felt a connection to bird decor and yay! it's totally popular now and I have lots of cute birds to choose from. This bird sign can be personalized with the number and arrangement of the little birds. I asked Ashleigh if it looked too crowded to have all 6 of my birdie kids on the branch. She said my "branch" was crowded whether it looked good or not. Surely I couldn't leave anyone out! Holly at Poppy Seed Projects personalized her sign for her dear family and has a special meaning for her as well.
Completing this project as a "kit" was amazing. My crafting mojo has been on hiatus so let me just tell you that painting this project during one nap time, sanding it the next day and loving the outcome made me feel like a rock star! There is a fabulous texturizing cream on the site so when you sand over the top of your paint, you have an old, textured and weathered look.
So the lovely ladies at Poppyseed Projects have offered to give one of our readers an Eleanor frame with a Brooklyn trim piece! You layer the Brooklyn trip piece over the Eleanor frame. It's chunky made cute! You can paint it to match your own decor and have a crafted, finished product in no time. It will feel like your birthday!
